Post Are Your Children Showing Entrepreneurial Tendencies?
by: Lucinda Cross

Some say entrepreneurs are born while others say any one can become an entrepreneur. Entrepreneur is someone who can come up with new ideas to undertake a certain activity for instance business enterprise and ensure that the activity he/she undertakes is successful. Some of the common characteristics of entrepreneurs include the ability to initiate and manage a venture, creativity, readiness to invest time and capital in the business and willingness to take risk; meaning that they are usually ready to undertake businesses that involves financial risks and willingness to do something where no one has done before in terms of investing money and other resources in it.

The major trait of entrepreneurs is that they are good in decision making; i.e. they can make viable decisions concerning a particular venture by gathering relevant information concerning the venture. They are also risk takers in that they can take part in a venture that involves financial risks. They usually assess the risks involved and calculate benefits that can be achieved from the venture before they can invest in that venture.

Entrepreneurs usually prefer working alone and they like being in control of everything that they undertake. This is due to the fact that they like being accountable for their deeds. They also like working in an environment where they have all powers so that they can control the business well and they discourage themselves from working under any authority. Entrepreneurs are never intimidated by challenges as they view them as opportunities and would always face these challenges with the intention of turning them around.

The following can help you in determining whether your children have got any entrepreneurial tendencies:

Do your children have any enthusiastic vision? Do they have any driving force to own an enterprise or are they motivated towards achievement?

Are they good independent decision makers? Are they positive thinkers? Are they capable of making decisions without any influence from other people?

Are they willing to take risks?

Are they creative and eager to learn endlessly and even being opportunistic and cunning?

Do they show any hopefulness when making decisions?

Do they seem persistent and determined to change a vision into reality?

Are they ready to invest their time, capital and any other resource into businesses that involves financial risks?

Do your children come up with any new ideas of making money? And are they ready to put these ideas into use?

Do your children prefer working alone or in a group? Entrepreneurs prefer working in a lonely environment.

Do they set time for leisure?

If your children are showing the above tendencies then they could be good entrepreneurs.
