Post California Auto Fraudulent Schemes
California Auto Fraudulent Schemes
by: Armenuhi Ivanyan

Buying an automobile is considering as a second most expensive investments in their life after only home purchasing. A lot of consumers in U.S. are sure that a vehicle is a way to demonstrate their financial prosperity in society. Many California consumers are victims of automobile fraud and do not even suppose it.

Auto fraud occurs when a dealer misrepresents the important facts of auto, new or used, in a sale transaction. Auto dealer fraud may happen in any stage of the vehicle purchase process, from advertising to signing official procedure. Auto dealer fraud is a common incidence that takes many different forms. Some examples of auto dealer scams are odometer rollback fraud, trade-in fraud, deferred down payments, vehicle’s mileage, condition or defects, finance paperwork etc.

Fraudulent automobile schemes are:

• Odometer / Rollback

• Financing Scam

• Buyer's Guide / Used Vehicles - a consumer has a right to review, sign and receive a copy of a "Buyer's Guide" on all used cars. Federal law requires that the Buyer's Guide must be posted on the vehicle at the time of sale.

• Copies of Signed Documents and Credit Applications–a consumer have a right to receive copies of all documents that he or she sign during a car deal

• Negative Equity / Upside-Down on Trade-In Vehicles - a consumer has a right to receive proper disclosure of negative equity or upside-down financing in the paperwork under federal lending laws.

• Forgery –Important to remember, the consumer has a right to personally sign all documentation. Sometimes dealers will “forget” to have a client sign a document, sign it themselves and turn it into the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) or finance company, or attempt to use it against the client later.

Auto fraudulent schemes are intended to defraud the buyer in some way, and to benefit the auto dealer. In all cases if you suppose that you have been a victim of auto dealer fraud, you should contact to “The Law Offices of Hovanes Margarian” to schedule a free consultation.
