Soccer Drills: 3 Sure - Fire Tips To Teach Juggling

Let’s understand it! A complete session on juggling is necessary for all soccer drills to be absolute in every sense. It is a basic skill that every soccer player must learn and be good at. Both senior players and beginners get to benefit from this activity. In related soccer exercises, players use their thighs, feet, and head to juggle the ball.

Being a warm up activity, it makes the muscles of players become warm and boosts their heart rate in just 10 minutes of juggling and therefore reflects its effectiveness.

Players get to find out the skill of controlling the ball along with the close ball skills by using juggling. They develop a sense of controlling and maneuvering the ball amidst an opposition attack. Last but not the least, players develop confidence through juggling that makes them relax with the ball (a vital quality required for successful attack).

Through soccer practice, players tend to develop their unique styles by practicing juggling alone. Some of the following tips will be useful to you as a coach.

When juggling with the foot, teach the players to use the top of the foot or the laces. The legs should be comfortable and the foot must be contracted as soon as it touches the ball. Tell the players to maintain balance by holding out their arms slightly.

When players juggle with their thighs, coach them to bring their knee up for the upper leg to stay horizontal. They should be made to understand the logic that the ball should touch the top of the thigh. It is vital that the body is bent backwards a little and the arms straightened out so that balance is maintained.

To juggle with the head is a difficult thing to do for the kids. But during the soccer drills, it is important for them to practice it. It is required of the players to review the correct angle so that the forehead is brought in contact with the ball. The head should be amply high so that the eyes face the sky. The legs should be bowed a little and straightened up a little every time a contact with the ball is made.

Complementary to these techniques of soccer training, talk to the players to use shoulders, outside of the heels, and the back of the neck s well. In certain unforeseen circumstances, it becomes vital to use these contact points. The young players should enjoy feeling the ball on their laces because this is the area that they will use the most to shoot the ball.

To end, it is crucial that factors of rhythm and balance are emphasized. These aid in juggling the ball successfully and must be adequately practiced. Coach the players to relax and foresee the movement of the ball. After adequate practice, they will be able to juggle perfectly.
