Softball Drills – Appropriate Attitude Do Wonders
by: Marc Dagenais

So you play softball and you know that it is not a mere sport. As a softball player, if you aim of becoming the most valuable player, you must be willing to undertake the various softball drills and overcome all the challenges that may come along your way. This determination will help you reach even greater achievements such as becoming a professional player in the future. You must have to take the different challenges and pressures it brings while trying to enjoy them.

Success in playing softball is not only measured by physical strength. It also requires the right attitude or the right mind set of a player. This can be best polished through performing softball drills. Although the objective of performing softball drills is to improve your hitting, pitching, catching, and other necessary skills, helping them with appropriate attitude you can do great.

As you can understand, physical strength is not enough. A softball player needs to develop also his mental skills while enhancing them through softball drills. Combining these three aspects, physical strength, appropriate attitude, and right mind-set, you can ensure your success. In this article, let me share you some of the important appropriate attitudes a softball player must have.

Self-Discipline – This is one of the most important attitudes a softball player must possess as it is the secret of most successful softball players. You can never assure your success by leaving this attitude behind. Self-discipline will be your backing force to do what is right. For instance, if you have a scheduled softball drill to attend while at the same time you are invited to go for a simple recreational activity, you will refuse just because you have self-discipline. This also involves having discipline when it comes to food you eat. As you know, there are foods a softball player must avoid. Self-discipline may be a simple word but it covers wide scope.

Perseverance – In playing softball, the road to success is rough as there are many challenges and difficulties one can meet along the way. But if you are equipped with this persevering attitude, you are most likely to overcome these barriers and become a polished player.

Be a Dreamer – Dreaming of what you want to become someday as a softball player is not bad. As a matter o fact, this has a good impact on you. This will push you to reach your goal. In point of fact, success starts with dreams. But of course dreams are useless without doing anything to achieve them. Dreams should always be backed up by action to make them a reality. In order for you to achieve your dreams dramatically, you therefore be active on softball drills.

Maintain Focus – This attitude towards performing softball drills and during the actual play is always required to every softball player. This is much more needed for a player particularly if he is a pitcher or a hitter. If you are the hitter, you cannot simply afford to miss hitting the ball. While if you are the pitcher on the other hand, your concentration must be nailed on the hitter. Don’t be distracted by the yelling crowd outside but put all your attention on the game instead.
