Softball Hitting Tips That Can Improve Your Overall Performance
by: Marc Dagenais

Along the course of history, we have learned some of the legendary home run hitters like Barry Bonds who recorded seven hundred and sixty two home runs and Hank Aaron with a home run record of seven hundred and fifty five. Softball players could also definitely remember Babe Ruth who has recorded seven hundred and fourteen home runs. Although Barry Bonds and Hank Aaron were baseball players, the differences between baseball and softball in terms of equipment, length of the game and field does not hinder many softball hitters to be like Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, and Babe Ruth of softball.

If you intend to sharpen your softball hitting skills and improve your overall performance, you can find these tips below very helpful. They are also very useful for your team to employ.

• Increase you hitting power by doing regular exercises. Like for example, doing squats, leg presses and weighted dips help strengthen your biceps, triceps, chest and other muscles necessary for softball hitting. Try to carry them out in a fast pace so that you enhance your batting speed.

• Don’t hold the bat too tight but handle it loosely instead. This will help you create a great strike with a greater speed while doing softball hitting. Holding the bat in a relaxed manner also helps you to let go the bat at once when you need to run around the bases.

• When you decide to do some strengthening exercises in the gym, make sure to only spend forty minutes at maximum. And also do so thrice a week only. Your concentration in this regard is to strengthen the primary muscle groups needed for softball hitting.

• In pushing the bat, you have to make use of your back hand while your front hand does the pulling activity. Doing this also allows you to enhance your softball hitting power while strengthening your follow-through.

• To produce more softball hitting power, you must have your top hand let go the bat. This might not be easy to learn, but as you get use of it, you can feel the difference of increase in your hitting power.

• Practice to hit the ball at its bottom part as this would let the ball to spin and fly father.

• To produce more softball hitting power, make sure to shift your weight from your back foot to your front foot as you hit the ball.

• It is also of good help if you find a place where you can unleash your full potential and speed when practicing softball hitting. Keep yourself busy in practicing this skill.

• When doing softball hitting, you must see to it that your chin is leveled on your front shoulder when you are about to swing. And when you are done, your chin must be at the back of your shoulder. In this way, you can avoid striking the ball too early while your head is kept down on the ball.

With all these easy to follow steps, you can be a great hitter in town.
