The Importance of Having an Excellent Posture in Softball Hitting
by: Marc Dagenais

Any player or those people who are involved in softball would definitely say that Softball hitting is certainly the most difficult skill in softball that one has to master. Before you can hit the ball properly, there are already a lot of things that you must do and there are already tons of trainings that you must undergo. How much more if you don’t just aim to hit properly? How much more if you are aiming to be excellent in this field? For sure the trainings and the processes will be a hundred times difficult. However, what is good about it is that you will be able to feel this unexplainable feeling of happiness and fulfillment if you are already able to do it.

Before you aim to be excellent in this field, there is still a need for you to go first with the basics. You cannot learn softball hitting by rushing to go to the most difficult trainings and drills. How can you execute those properly if you don’t know what are the simplest things that you must do?

Reaching the victory will be easier if you will not rush and just take one step at a time. Although you will just begin on the basics and although they are simple, you must not underestimate them. Instead, you must keep all the things that you have learned in your mind and in your heart because even the simplest and smallest details can still help a lot.

After you are done familiarizing yourself with the softball hitting equipments, you are now ready to take the next simple step and that is to learn how to use these equipments and the proper posture while you are hitting.

Many players are making a mistake because sometimes they are taking the knowledge of the proper posture for granted. Why do you think it is important for a hitter or any softball player to have a proper posture?

The answer on that question is simple. Proper posture is needed especially if you are a hitter because you will not be able to hit the ball perfectly if your posture is poor. What do you think will happen to a player who does not have a proper stance or position while he is going to hit the ball? Do you think he will make it? Or if he did make it, do you think he was able to hit it smoothly, properly, and perfectly? Absolutely not.

In softball hitting, even the smallest details when it comes to your posture are important because if not this will surely have a negative impact on the way you hit the ball. So you must really watch your stance. Make sure that you are doing it perfectly. Also, you have to make sure that your hands and arms are strong enough to grip and do the swing properly. Don’t take your posture for granted because this is an important ingredient for you to reach the top and to reach your goal of becoming one of the best softball hitters in the world.
