Making An Easy Chicken Recipe
by: Andrew Goligher

The trick to assembling an easy chicken recipe is to first make sure that there are not a lot of ingredients in your recipe to begin with. Often times using seven ingredients or under makes a nice, easy chicken recipe. If your recipe is uncomplicated you will have a better chance at success. One example of this is an easy french wine chicken dish. It only calls for: Chicken breasts, mushrooms, butter, flour, shallots, chicken broth and white wine.

Since locating unusual items can be time consuming, choose a recipe that does not contain difficult to find items. You should use ingredients that can be found at your local supermarket or grocery store. Using ingredients that you have used in the past is recommended as well.

Decide, before you shop, if you want to use a whole chicken or parts of the chicken. Although an entire chicken will be more flavorful, chicken parts have a much faster cooking time. So if time is an issue for you, choose skinless chicken breasts or chicken tenders. Fresh and not frozen chicken is much faster and safer to cook with but, if you do have the extra time, chicken tenders work best. However it is good to use the type of chicken that is listed in your recipe.

With your recipe in hand, making sure not to miss any items, head to the store to gather all of your ingredients. Layout the ingredients that go into your recipe on your kitchen counter with all the tools you will need to cook with.

If chopping or other preparation is needed then do this first and remember to keep chicken away from any other items you need to prepare. Always wash all areas with a sanitizer after raw chicken comes into contact with any surface. Cutting boards can be cleaned with a bleach solution or placed in your dishwasher.

Use the correct size pot or pan to prepare your chicken in. Often times recipes will tell you the right pan, dish or pot to use otherwise you can use what you have on hand. A good frying pan for chicken is a must for most recipes.

How long will this all take? To figure out when your meal will be finished you will need to allow approximately a half an hour for prep time and one hour or less for your chicken dish to be ready. Shopping time is at your own speed. By trying a few different chicken recipes once a week you will soon find your favorite easy recipe.
