Award Winning Wedding Caterer Spitting Pig Is Expanding Throughout the UK
by: Alexanes Leeny

More and more catering is moving to being an outdoor event. If you want to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or just have a party then BBQ catering should be on your list of choices. Even wedding catering is opening up to the great outdoors.

But do not think that just because BBQ catering is an outdoor event that you can do it all by yourself. Hog roasts and luau's can be much more difficult to pull off than standard catering events. There are more demands in getting the timing right with an outdoor roast, especially when BBQ catering outdoors items cannot be prepared in advance and just delivered to the site.

BBQ catering, whether for a wedding catering service or other event, has to be planned and executed with flawless timing for the meal to be perfect. When you plan a roast there are more opportunities to entice and tantalize your guests. From the aromas to their taste buds, a BBQ roast fits the bill.

Your site selection will have an impact on the type of BBQ catering event you can have. Open pit digging may not be allowed at every location. Be sure to discuss with your facility, event planner and caterer all of your available options.

Other considerations include zoning and health regulations. Will a permit be required? Are there any health and safety issues that need to be addressed? A professional caterer will not only be able to answer these questions they will be able to take care of them for you.

Due to limitations on the ability to dig BBQ pits most caterers have roasting machines. Machines vary in size as to the quantity of food they can cook. Be sure that your caterer has the machine capacity to accommodate your guest list. Machines can also affect the taste of the meal. You need to understand how your BBQ will be prepared. You should visit different caterers and sample their product prior to committing with any one establishment.

When looking for a BBQ caterer you should consider ones in your locality. Transporting heavy machines will add to the expense of your event. You should look for a business that is established and well known. If possible, attend an event they are catering to see how they operate. It can also be helpful to get referrals from friends and former customers.

If you have the skill and know how you can rent a roaster and do a lot of the event yourself. This will save you money. This should only be considered if you have experience preparing and cooking food for a large group or if your event is casual. For the special occasion event where nothing should go wrong it would be wise to leave all the headaches to the professionals. They have the resources to quickly resolve any issue that may arise.

Outdoor catering can add a unique and special flare to any event. When pulled off correctly, the event is a memorable one that is sure to stick in each guest's mind. BBQ catering can be more difficult to pull off successfully than many other types of catering, but it is worth the effort for the taste and atmosphere.
