Post Travel Bingo
Travel Bingo
by: Mary Weber

If you are one of those bingo nuts that hate to be separated from your online bingo site or game at your local hall, then you should get a travel bingo set.

Going away is something everyone needs to do at some point. Whether the trip is a planned vacation or a business trip, traveling is something that most people do every year. Travel bingo ensures that all players do not miss out on their games. From road trips to airplane journeys to cruises – you can play bingo anywhere, anytime, no matter where you are.

There are a number of interesting variations of travel bingo aside from the traditional number bingo. There are games especially for children, games for grown up’s and games that the whole family can play.

For the younger members of the family, the most popular travel bingo game is similar to a game of ‘I Spy’. This game is played with 2 players, using red and yellow magnet chips. Players share a magnetic board, and whenever a dog, plain, flag, bridge or other landmark is spotted players place their marker on the board. The first person to place the last marker on the board is the winner of the game. This game is great for parents, as it keeps the kids absorbed during long trips.

Grown up’s can play a game of ‘Back Seat Bingo’. This is similar to the younger travel bingo version, but players have their own cards and the game is played in the same 5x5 grid as traditional bingo games. Objects are determined beforehand, whether players choose road signs, license plates or other objects. Once these have been chosen, a description is written in each square of the grid. Players then mark an ‘X’ in each box as they see the objects. The first to get a row on five going down, across or diagonally wins bingo.

Traditional bingo can be played by the whole family, which makes it one of the best travel bingo options. Cards can be either handmade or printed from the internet. Players can either win if they get five in a row (down, across or diagonally), or in a pattern, or the whole card. All that is needed for this game is the cards, markers and balls with a cage or container to sort the balls. Of course, bingo travel sets contain all the equipment needed to play, even handy bags to contain the sets.

If you want to always be prepared for bingo, getting a travel bingo set will be a way to make sure that no road trip, doctor’s office waiting room queue or picnic will be boring ever again!
