The Samsung Galaxy S Offers Heaps Of Internal Storage

The Samsung i9000 Galaxy S is newly released smartphone which offers loads of great features resulting in a highly versatile and desirable device. Amongst its impressive spec list you will find a 4 inch super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, 5 megapixel digital camera and full Wi-Fi connectivity.

Utilising the Android operating system (v2.1) alongside a powerful 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the Samsung Galaxy S provides an ideal platform for expansion and customisation. Access to the Android Market means users can browse thousands of apps which they can then download, from every imaginable category.

The handset itself measures 122.4x 64.2x 9.9 mm making it one of the slimmest handsets out there, whilst managing to pack a wealth of technology into the casing. Featuring an impressive 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, up to 16M colours can be displayed within the pixel resolution of 480x 800 which means that photos and videos are displayed in very high quality. An accelerometer sensor is included to automatically rotate the UI based upon the orientation of the handset. This further adds to the suitability for displaying photos and videos. The TouchWiz UI is utilised and the screen also features a proximity sensor, as well as touch sensitive controls.

Depending upon the model purchased, either 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage is provided as standard, which is generous in itself, however an additional 32 GB can be made available by installing a suitable memory card into the micro SD card slot. The Samsung Galaxy S also features a spacious internal phonebook which can store a large number of contacts, which includes the photocall function.

The Samsung Galaxy S utilises class 12 GPRS and EDGE in order to connect to cellular networks, whilst internet access is provided courtesy of both HSDPA (in areas covered by 3G) at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, and Wi-Fi which takes advantage of the signals provided by local wireless networks where available.

A handy 5 megapixel digital camera is included which does a great job of taking high quality still images as well as boasting the ability to shoot HD quality video in 720p at a rate of 30 frames per second. A whole host of image enhancing features is provided as standard which allows users to manipulate and edit images and videos, including autofocus, touch-focus, face & smile detection as well as geo-tagging which functions based on GPS.

A long list of features is included as standard. These include entertainment features such as a media player for music and video files, a stereo FM radio player with RDS, and a selection of pre-installed games. Productivity features include an organiser, document editor (MS Office compatible) and the standard Android Google features.

The Samsung Galaxy S is the epitome of a modern smartphone and deserves a spot at the top of your wish list whether you are looking for an effective multimedia device, or a great communication, productivity and web-browsing tool.
