The Wildfire By HTC Is An Appealing All Rounder

The HTC Wildfire has proven to be a popular Smartphone since its release in May. Given its low price tag, people may be surprised to learn just how advanced this compact smartphone actually is.

With similar features to a number of other HTC handsets such as the Desire and Legend; its key features include a 5MP digital camera, an array of social networking features, and the Android Operating System. Obviously the internet plays a major role in the features of the HTC Wildfire. An advanced web browser makes surfing the web an enjoyable and productive experience. Whilst access to the internet is available at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps in areas with 3G (via an HSDPA connection), W-Fi connectivity is also available, offering greater browsing speeds. The HTC Wildfire offers solutions to common problems encountered when surfing the web on other mobile phones.

A feature called “text auto-reflow” allows users to zoom into a web page simply by pinching the screen. The test on the page then resizes and moves to fill the screen, whereas on lesser phones, one would have to scroll from side to side or up and down to read the text. By highlighting text with fingertips, users can search it in Wikipedia, or have it translated by Google Translate with just a couple of taps of the screen. The HTC Wildfire web browser is also Flash enabled. This has shown itself to prove a major hurdle on some other phones, as users have been unable to view content such as Flash videos and animations. The HTC Wildfire allows users to enjoy the whole of the web, in stunning quality, thanks to is TFT capacitive touchscreen which measures up at a generous 3.2 inches.

Thanks to the HTC Sense UI, users can customise the user interface to their heart’s content, and truly make the HTC Wildfire their own. A News application allows users to choose which sites they want to read, and the phone automatically chooses news which is likely to be of interest to you, and provides it in a live feed.

Up to 7 panels can be displayed on the homescreen, which can be customised to display whatever the user wishes. These can range from practical applications such as contacts, or a calendar, or something more personal such as a favourite photo album.

All sorts of extra features are provided as standard, and it would take a long time to go over them all. Obviously the HTC Wildfire has all the standard features you would expect from a smartphone, such as expandable micro SD memory, Bluetooth connectivity and a versatile digital camera.

The HTC Wildfire excels at social networking and is ideal for those who like to keep in touch with friends and family, whilst providing powerful tools for a whole host of additional tasks.
