Post Sony TVs Built To Fail?
I own a lot of Sony products, but I don't think I'll ever buy another Sony TV.

The installer said he just returned, from "a big Sony sales meeting, in Japan" and the company was extremely excited over its new strategy, for making money.

He said the firm announced it was going to increase revenue by incorporating inferior parts into its televisions so they would break down, after 5 years. The firm, he said, expected that this would cause dedicated Sony customers to, either, pay a Sony repairman to fix the problem or replace their old Sony TV with a new Sony TV.

The installer claimed he argued that Sony had spent years building a reputation, for quality. So, the new strategy, he felt, would be a mistake.

Yet, here we are, about 5 or 6 years later, and I'm already seeing a double-image, on my Sony TV screen. So, something is burning out.

Yet, I don't think I'll ever buy another Sony TV.

I certainly wouldn't recommend it.
